Mandated Community Service

Court Ordered/Mandated Community Service

At West Valley Humane Society, we offer the opportunity for individuals to fulfill their court-ordered or mandated community service hours. To get started, please review the following important information:

Orientation

  • All community service workers are required to attend an orientation session. Orientation sessions are held every Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
  • The 30-minute orientation will count towards your community service hours.
  • To attend the orientation, you must be at least 16 years of age. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accompany you during the entire orientation, including the completion of paperwork and the facility tour.
  • During orientation, you will receive important information about our rules and expectations, and you will be asked to provide the information listed on the form.
  • You will also receive a timesheet, which is necessary for tracking your hours.
  • Please be aware that community service workers are required to remain on-site at all times.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Community service workers are expected to adhere to all the rules and guidelines outlined for the staff at WVHS.
  • Please refrain from wearing hats, clothing with drug-related imagery, sweatpants, leggings, pajamas, and open-toed shoes. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory for safety reasons.
  • Cellphones are not permitted during your community service hours.

Hours Tracking

  • We will carefully record and verify all your completed hours.
  • If you need to schedule your community service hours in advance, please provide us with a 24-hour notice, excluding weekends and holidays.
  • Once your community service hours are completed, please submit your timesheet to WVHS staff.
  • Authorized staff members will calculate your total hours and provide you with a completion letter.
  • Your completed timesheet will be mailed to you within two full business days, excluding weekends and holidays.

We look forward to your participation in our community service program. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of animals in our care.
