We love having groups volunteer at West Valley Humane Society! With groups, we are able to get larger projects accomplished that can be difficult to complete with general volunteers and staff.

Volunteers make an enormous difference in our mission to help change the lives of people and pets in Canyon County.  There is no act too big or too small- your help can make a big difference in the life of a shelter pet.

Here are a few of the projects that groups help us complete:

  • Help us make sure that all dogs are able to go outside to get play and enrichment time.
  • Build enrichment activities that help maintain our shelter animal’s mental health.
  • Accomplish large cleaning, organization, or yard projects.
  • Help us with social media, advertisement, or the promotion of animals in our care.
  • Help us with community outreach initiatives.

To start the process of volunteering, please fill out the group volunteer application. Once we have your application and liability waiver signed digitally, we will start the process of training.

Volunteer training is a combination of online and in-person learning to set volunteers up for success at the shelter.
