NOTE: Due to a high volume of cat intakes and requests, we are experiencing kennel shortages, and therefore wait list times may be longer than usual.

Areas of Service

West Valley Humane Society practices scheduled admission for cats to help manage kennel space.

Due to the lack of kennel space and resources at the shelter, West Valley Humane Society only takes in cats from areas that are contracted with the shelter.

This includes areas that are in Canyon County (outside of city limits) and the following areas within city limits.

  • Nampa
  • Caldwell
  • Middleton
  • Notus
  • Marsing
If your city is not in contract with West Valley Humane Society and you are not sure what to do, reach out to us and we can provide some next steps: help@westvalleyhumanesociety.org.

Owner surrenders will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. We are happy to problem solve issues with you and help find ways for your pet to stay in your home if you are in need of additional support. We will evaluate our ability to take in owner surrenders week to week while we navigate space and funding shortages. You will be contacted by a staff member once your owner surrender form is filled out.
