If you see an animal that you are interested in and would

like more information, please come down to our shelter.

We would be happy to share with you all the information

we know about every animal in our care.

Pet of the Week Meet Meadow! She is a year old shepherd mix who came to us as a stray. She weighs 59 pounds. Meadow has quite the backstory! She came to us after being on the run for months. She was a very scared, undersocialized dog when she first came to the shelter. Meadow stayed in foster for a little over a month to help her build the confidence that she lacked. Meadow will need to go to a home that is willing to continue her positive reinforcement training. She loves to have a consistent routine and thrives best when she does. Upon taking her home, we recommend tether training her for 1- 2 weeks until she feels more comfortable. Keeping her on a leash at your side at all times will help her to relax and bond with you. She is shy at first, but does form bonds quickly with people. Meadow must go to an indoor home ONLY. Meadow requires 6 foot fencing and a very secure area to keep her safe and contained. She is potty trained and leash trained, but would benefit from a basic obedience course. She knows sit and is working on learning shake. Meadow is treat motivated and should be fairly easy to teach commands to. Because of her timid nature, we recommend a home with children ages 8 and up who understand to take things slow with her. She prefers women over men. Meadow does great with other dogs and has done well around cats, but does occasionally try to chase them. She is a very sweet girl who enjoys going on walks, car rides, and cuddling! She is afraid of fast movements and loud noises. If you're interested in meeting Meadow, bring all family members and pets in for a meet and greet! *UTD ON VACCINES* *MICROCHIPPED* *SPAYED*     .
We like to see our dogs adopted into safe homes that are a good fit for the family, the dog and with any other dogs or cats that may be in the home. We do meet and greets here at the shelter to make sure that all the dogs get along. Our adoption specialists are here to help facilitate this process. To better help us serve you, we ask that our visitors fill out a pre- adoption questionnaire. You can click on the following link to download one or fill out one here at the shelter when considering to adopt a new dog. Pre-Adoption link Disclaimer: We do not adopt animals out of state to adopters that do not physically come to the shelter to meet the animal.  Animals may have mandatory adoption requirements based on their history.  We do not ship animals.  We do have the right to refuse an adoption.
